Hi! Thanks for taking a look at the latest incarnation of my blog. I’ve started others before, but for one reason or another I’ve abandoned them.
I am an unrepentant “gun nut”. I’ve been shooting since I was a teen and I’m a HUGE proponent of 2nd Amendment rights. I love shooting and as a disabled woman, many of my previous hobbies (which I can no longer do), this is something that I can still have fun with.
As I’ve said, I’m disabled. I have mobility issues these days that stem from ESRD (End Stage Renal Disease) and the dialysis that I have to do three times a week in order to continue to survive. It’s interesting, but before becoming disabled and needing to have to use mobility devices (cane and walker), I never thought about many things such as access.
From a professional standpoint, I have a background in computer programming and in computer systems administration. I’ve been doing this work for over 22 years now and have worked for various companies including Microsoft, Sun, Silicon Graphics and now Apple where I’m working as a Systems Engineer for the Apple Online store. I’m proficient in many languages including C, C++, Perl, and various shell languages including bourne and korn shell.
I’m also a geek at heart, be it computers or other subjects. I used to be an avid cyclist. I am still a ham radio operator (KF6RMW) though I haven’t been on the airwaves much lately.
